Family Volunteer Requirement

GYBLL is a non-profit organization that depends almost entirely on the efforts of volunteers! All of our coaches, division commissioners, and board members are volunteers, and we need other parents to pitch in and help, in part to keep registration costs as low as they are.

Indirect support of the league

Starting in Spring 2025, GYBLL instituted an opt-out fee so that families who were not in a position to volunteer could still contribute to the success of Little League. This fee is $150 per family, due at registration, and releases a family from the direct support hours requirement for one season.

Nevertheless, we would always prefer to have parents take on leadership or support roles for their children's team and the league as a whole.

Direct support of the team/league

If a family chooses to directly support their child’s team or the league, parents will be expected to provide at least 10 hours of service per season before August 1 for the Spring Season, or by November 15 for the Fall Season. If support hours are not met by the deadline, the family will be invoiced $150 that must be paid before the child can play another season. This requirement is applicable to all division levels. There are MANY opportunities available to earn those 10 hours.
